RULES AND GUIDELINES

CPR: The best way to survive and thrive in this team is by always performing “CPR”. Communication, Participation and Respect.

New Players: Welcome to Leon!  We are grateful and delighted with your decision to consider Leon to be your son/daughter’s soccer team.   Please read below to learn more about the team.

Participating Leagues

  1. Leopardo’s Soccer League
  2. Gala Soccer League
  3. Alhambra Soccer League
  4. Coast Soccer League
  5. PSSLU League.

Practices: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm at Conteras HS.

Games: Saturdays and Sundays.  The game schedule comes out on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning and is published on TeamSnap where you will be additional details of games, practices, etc.

Coaches: We have four coaches who volunteer on different games and cover for each other when one is not present. Our coaches do not get paid for the hours they dedicate to the team.  Please remember to show gratitude and respect.

Participation: A player must participate in practices, official games, and/or friendly games to be considered an active participant of this team. If a player is not an active participant, that player will be removed from the team. This goes to Club and Non-Club players.

Playing Time: Some players are more experienced, skilled, and committed than others, therefore, “equal” playing time is not guaranteed.  Other things [interest, commitment, and communication] are taken into consideration when allocating playing time.

Friendly Games: These games are ideal for those players who need extra practice and playing time.  Those players who want to improve and/or stay sharp are encouraged to participate in these games. The more a player plays, the better he gets.  No player will get better at playing soccer sitting on the bench.

Club Players: A very high percentage of our players participating in competitive leagues play in a club. We do our very best to provide a positive and competitive environment.  We understand that for many of you, the responsibility, especially financially, is greater with your club than it is with Leon.  However, we do not believe ourselves to be any less important than your club. Please be mindful and do not neglect good communication.

  • Use TeamSnap accordingly and mark “available” only if you are certain your child is able and willing to play is okay if your child does not want to play or does not feel like it. The burden of a win will NEVER fall on my club players.
  • Be respectful to the volunteer coaches, parents, and players. Your child will play with players at different levels and with players with different sets of skills. Your child may play with his club Flight 1, NPL, ECNL, MLS Next. Leon has very talented players, but it could be a little difficult for a game to have a natural flow, when the players are at a different playing level. If you accept this and agree to stay! Great! We will do our very best to provide a positive and competitive environment for your child.

Team Status: Leon is a non-profit organization recognized by the State of California and in good standing with the Department of Justice.  If you or someone you know wishes to donate to help those less fortunate, we would really appreciate it.

We hope you enjoy your time with Leon! N’ looking forward to providing a positive experience for you and your child.

Thank you, Martha.
